Sea serpents: []
The seas of Lerodas were once potentially deadly for anyone wishing to travel across the seas to new lands due to serpentine creatures which swam beneath the waves. The serpents were widely known to come to the surface and attack ships due to the ship’s resemblance to a whale.
Types[]
There were many different types of sea serpents in the seas of Lerodas. Large black serpents with bioluminescent tendrils occupied the deepest depths of the Lerodan seas and were 350-1200 meters in length. Smaller red, green, and blue colored serpents lived closer to the shores and were 50 to 400 meters in length.

nts would hunt whales and other large aquatic animals by attacking from below. The serpent's would try to constrict the animal or slam into it until it stops moving. The serpent then eats it much like how pythons eat their prey.
The smaller serpents hunt in groups of two and three to bite and rip at large sea creatures from below. They tended to chase their prey in prolonged hunts. Many ships were mistakenly identified as food by the serpents.
Hunting & Extinction[]
Towards the end of the 16th era and the beginning of the 17th era major nations of the time, mainly including Fraserland and the Vanhania, gave rewards for any sailor who could bring back the head of a serpent due to the strain they were putting on exploration, trade, and fishing/whaling. Sailors armed with modified whaling ships soon hunted down and killed a majority of the population.
Aristocrats in many nations, primarily Vanhania, soon discovered a love of serpent teeth, bones, blood, and oil in the mid 17th era and caused yet another boom in the serpent hunting world which now had access to better weaponry. Thanks to this final boom in hunting, and a slight rise in Lerodan ocean temperature, the sea serpents of Lerodas became extinct.
From time to time rare reports surface about rumors of serpents. These rumors are quickly dismissed.
On the large lake within the FUPs borders, it a popular rumor in the international community that they still exist, and even thrive with the help of the Fräsians feeding them.
